Why do Shadow Liners POSSIBLY need 3 sessions? I wanted to explain by showing these 3 fresh results of a shadow liner. All are completely normal! We have purple, green, and black. We have almost perfectly happy skin, we have slight bruising, and we have swelling. All are OK and lead to great healed results, BUT when we see a lot of swelling or bruising, it takes longer to get all our color in.
Everyone's bodies respond differently, and the big shadow liners cover a lot of space with really delicate color. All 3 of these liners were done in the same week.
If we see bruising and keep packing color in, it's hard to always see what's ink, and whats bruise. Same with swelling, AND swelling just makes it harder to get color in. Because we NEED that color to be sheer in this style, we can only do so much once swelling occurs.
The end result of these liners is so pretty. It's my favorite, but it CAN take time. We cover all of this in your consultation tomake sure it's the right fit for you.
Removal is usually not the word you want to hear when you come in for a consultation.
There are a lot of reasons why the removal process might be needed before we can touch up those brows.
β’if your shape isnβt right for your face.
β’if your brows are way too dark and possibly too saturated.
β’if your brows are a color of the rainbow not familiar to the natural color of your brows. No one wants to walk around with two toned brows.
Removal is a process though, and it can take multiple sessions to lighten the brows enough to put more ink in. We always start this process by having a consultation with you to discuss what your brow goals are.
The good news is removal is a quick procedure and Iβll have you in and out of the studio in about an hour. We numb you to take the edge off and send you home with all the proper aftercare so you heal beautifully.
Sometimes, you sacrifice some skin for your students.
Depth in tattooing is a REALLY important thing. Almost the most important. Having my students tattoo (with no ink) a little section of my arm let's me feel their work and ensure they're getting in there at the right depth. Not too deep, not too shallow. Same with doing a little section on their arm, especially if they've never been tattooed.

Crispy crispy little hairstrokes! The client felt her natural brow shape had an arch that was just a bit too centered, and wanted thicker. That slight shape adjustment lifted her whole face. A good brow makes such a difference. Adding a bit of shading allowed us to match density in the new parts where she had no natural hair. She came in with a few inspiration pictures and that's always so helpful! For her lips, she wanted to slightly soften her sharp cupids bow, and define her lip shape. Done and done!
Is it your turn? Here's how it works. Full face takes me (shop owner and trainer, @trejamcclish) 4-6 hours. We take some breaks between services for you to move your body. We map out EVERYTHING before we tattoo, we also pick colors together. Then 8 weeks later, we do a touchup session. This perfects any details that didn't heal exactly how we wanted. This might mean redefining some hair strokes, adjusting a lip color a bit. Sometimes, it's super minimal to nothing! All of your healing time (about a week) has special care instructions, and we send you home with all the products you need.
